I’ve probably had at least 3 posts under this title on here… Poppies are some of the hardest flowers to get good photos of, however, so I’m constantly trying to improve every time they’re in season. My latest endeavor was blessed with a thin cloud cover and a stray hose spray (love me some kitschy water droplets).
Worth the massive pile of dog poo I accidentally knelt in? Debatable. =)
This past semester, life got to the point where shooting photos for work, let alone for personal enjoyment, let alone for posting on this blog, became an afterthought, a idealistic goal that was quickly squelched by life. I’m not saying this year will be any different, and I’m not making any promises, but I am saying that I’m going to try a little harder. Which, in retrospect, doesn’t mean very much when taking last year’s posting schedule into consideration. 😉
All that said, I’ve put together a gallery of some shots I took this autumn/winter; lots of my cat Willow are of course included. Enjoy:
Nothing like a vaguely poetic (and dare I say pretentious?) title to get cred with the “artistes”… =)
Taking a short photo walk can help clear even the foggiest of minds. Even if that walk is just around your yard… =)
Finding music and motion in nature…
And with it comse blossoms. Blossoms, I must admit, that were hard to get a good photo of. Super annoying. Either they were in direct sunlight, or the dusky light at evening wouldn’t lat long enough for me to get good shots. Buuuut, here are the ones that are better. Tell me which is your favorite!
A quick review of all the things I photographed in 2014. Thank you everyone for sticking around and enjoying my work! Lots more coming in 2015. =)
More black and white!
Gorgeous sun bokeh!
Leaf art. Maybe hipster, maybe really lame. I’m just experimenting. =P Tell me what you think, please! I’d love to hear your feedback so I know if you want to see more of this kinda stuff. =)
Click to enlarge and see it against black. It looks better IMO…
Dried out and dead elderberries in the late evening light…
How about that bokeh? =)
